Zaha Hadid Design at DENFAIR Melbourne

Zaha Hadid Design will present their collections in Australia for the first time at DENFAIR Melbourne 2019.

With each new collection, Zaha Hadid Design continues Hadid’s inventive methodology and process; sharing Zaha Hadid’s story and its significance within the dialogue of contemporary design. The studio’s portfolio encompasses 40 years of design research and is expressed in the pioneering designs for lighting, furniture and finishes exhibited in Melbourne:

– Moon System Sofa for B&B Italia
– Aria and Avia Chandeliers for Slamp
– Quad Table for Citco
– Liquid Glacial Stools for David Gill Gallery
– Cellular Rug for Royal Thai Carpets

In conjunction with these collaborations, Zaha Hadid Design’s own collections will be featured at DENFAIR including the new Swirl bowl, and Cell centrepiece.

Centred around themes found in Hadid’s repertoire, Zaha Hadid Design has created a stand at DENFAIR that encompasses abstraction and intersection; elements often conveyed within her architecture. Conceived as two continuous loops or ribbons that intersect and peel apart to reveal an exaggerated perspective, the structure expresses a sense of dynamism with intersecting elements that define the space.

Panel discussion June 20, 3:30pm: In a moderated talk, Zaha Hadid Design’s co-directors Maha Kutay and Woody Yao will outline the studio’s development by Zaha Hadid from the 1980’s until present.
